Hoover Dam Tours

Standard Hoover Dam Tour

A Standard Hoover Dam Tour includes the government guided Powerplant Tour at the Hoover Dam Visitor Center. An elevator ride will take you down to see the massive power generators. An elevator also takes you up to the Hoover Dam Exhibit Building. Above all is the 890′ high Mike O’Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge (concrete arch bridge, tallest in U.S.A, built 2010). Pat Tillman was a former Arizona football player, served in military and was killed by friendly fire. Mike O’Callaghan was a Nevada Governor.

As a reminder, Hoover Dam was known as Boulder Dam from 1935-1947. Another amazing thing about the Hoover Dam is the sacrifice to build the dam, many men died building the dam, some died later from carbon monoxide poisoning. Today, what many say is the “Greatest Dam Ever Built,” is Las Vegas’ best sightseeing tour. Finally, don’t forget to visit the only grave marker, where the mascot of Hoover Dam (Black Lab Mix Dog) was buried in 1947.
